Introducing BabbaCo Activity Boxes :: A review and giveaway!

To say my boys (ages 6 and almost 3) were thrilled in receiving and doing our BabbaCo box activities is an understatement!  From the moment our shipment came to the door, there was excitement in the air.  Packages are a big deal at our house.

What is a BabbaBox?

Geared towards kids ages 3-6, BabbaBox is a monthly, themed activity box delivered to your home {or the home of another if you gift one} — with ALL materials necessary to complete each activity!

In each box includes FOUR parts:

Creating :: 2-3 fully-supplied activities to complete with children

Exploration :: each box is theme-based around a topic for parents and kiddos to learn together

Storytelling :: an age-appropriate book in every box

Connection :: each delivery offers prepaid downloads for more interactive learning

Our POLAR EXPLORERS BabbaBox

When our overflowing box of goodies on a Polar Explorers theme arrived, my 6-year old hovered close by as I opened and went through the materials.  Can I say just how organized everything was?  All crafts separated into bags, with all appropriate materials already cut out and ready-to-g0 {yes, this is probably my favorite aspect — organization.}

Immediately upon seeing the contents, my boy shouted “wow, a new compass!” and did a little jig around the room.  He loves all things compasses, North and South poles, directions, etc.  This was the perfect box for him!

Activity Projects in our BabbaBox:

First up, we completed the penguin pocket, a cute little pouch made for storing things (or the animal information cards that came along with our BabbaBox).

:: :: ::

Ice painting was by far the favorite activity — just add water!  Since it was a messier project, we headed outdoors for the fun.

One tip to pass on:  Our BabbaBox instructions explained to freeze the cubes for 30-45 minutes and then add in the sticks (slightly frozen, the sticks would then stay in place).  BUT, this Mama gets going and would have most likely forgotten.

So here’s what I did…

The foil holds the sticks in place!  Voila — no unhappy children wondering why Mommy forgot, and now they have to hold the ice cubes with plastic baggies while their fingers get numb.  Not that I have experience in that or anything….ahem.

:: :: ::

We read the book provided (such a cute story!) and completed the activity for the treasured compass.  Through our animal cards provided, we learned together that polar bears are only found in the Arctic, and penguins in Antarctica.  New information for us!

:: :: ::

Finally, our BabbaBox came complete with a QR code for downloading an age-appropriate APP game (on polar bears of course!).  Spending a bit of time checking this out, my 6-year old was thrilled to add to his collection of apps to enjoy.

Final Thoughts on the BabbaBox:

I am NOT the most creative Mom out there, and I LOVE the idea that crafts and activities would be ready to do with my 4 kiddos aged 2, 4, 5, 7. :)

I like that it’s a complete kit. And it looks like fun!

Melissa

I love that it is educational and fun (and all put together so Mom can enjoy it too!). Thank you for this giveaway!

Karen

This looks like a great way to keep the younger ones happy and learning while the older ones have their own work – always a need at our house!

Colleen

I love the variety in the box. Crafts, books, and ‘toys’. What a neat idea.

What a neat product! And wonderful post. So important to spend the time together:)

(My first comment on your blog! Woo hoo!)

That looks so amazingly fun! I’ve never thought of ice painting. What a GREAT summertime outside activity. It’s well over 100 degrees each day here in Memphis, so a study of polar animals is quite comforting!

Love the encouragment to sit down and spend time with our Little…she tends to get grouped in with our bigger kids and it would be fun to have a few designated actitivites for her.
I like the ice painting :)

WOW – this looks great. Thanks for the wonderful photos! Incredible – I love that they provide fun learning tools and I just have to open the box!

I would love to have this at my house for when my granddaugher comes to visit. thanks!

Dineen

I’ve seen this company and visited their site before. They look very well researched for providing developmentally appropriate activities for children. I love the concept, I just wish it weren’t outside our budget at the time.

Dineen

I don’t see a coupon code?

Looks like something my 5 yr-old would enjoy very much.

I love when things that say they contain “everything you need” actually contain everything you need. I’m so impressed that they even included the ice cube tray, something that most people have in their house (though we only have one, so the chances of us using it to make ice paints is pretty slim). I love that feeling of completeness when everything really is there.

Thanks for such a thorough review! I feel like this would be the coolest things to give/receive as a gift! I have a 2.5yr old and a 4.5yr old. Good timing! And my niece is 5! I’d love that it’d take the planning work out of at least one day’s activities!!

Dineen – the coupon code is in the BabbaCo box above the giveaway (20% off)

Megan Turner

Wow – if has everything needed in the box to cure the summer boredom!

Lois

Oh, this looks like something my boys would LOVE!!!! I would do crafts more, but there is always that time factor of finding things needed, and cutting things out… I’m gonna check into it more!! We would love to win this!!

Michele

This looks great. I have a four year old that will be starting school as well as a fifth, and seventh grader. This would be a great timesaver for me to do with my youngest! Would love to win!

Yes, I’m loving this idea. Send it on to TEXAS!!

This looks like so much fun – my girls would get a kick out of it! Thanks for the chance to win!

Kami

I love that it’s not something we’d normally try!! A lot of variety!!

My 3,4, and 8 year olds would eat this up. My older girls would too, actually. It’s fun to play along.

I like that the work and thought are already done and everything works together. My 6 yo son seems to really enjoy that aspect.

Janet Gordon

I would appreciate this for my 3 1/2 yr old! She is always wanting to “do school” with her older brother and though I prepare playful learning experiences, she seems to always want more! I love the organization of this box!

Jenny L.

I love the fact that everything you need comes in the box for a full learning experience – momma wouldn’t have to find it all and create it herself – I could use a no-brainer some days…

this is just the coolest! i love that everything you need is IN the box! sign me up!

Joanne McClain

I love how it’s full of so many different activities to reinforce the theme. I also love the convenience of having everything included. No running out to the store because we didn’t have a so-called “basic” item in the house. :)

jennifer

I love that it is all put together for you!

Heather

My kids love new activities!

I love that everything is provided!

Tammy

Since I’m not too crafty, I love that everything you need is planned out and ready!

katie

I love the variety.

with 3 children 6 y.o. and under, this would be a great activity to do together. Count me in. :)

I love that each box arrives with a book. Also that each box is thoughtfully planned out and themed. :0)

Karen

I can’t wait to get my hand on one box! It looks so awesome goodness!

I’m starting to homeschool my daughter k-4 next month so this would be perfect & so fun to get each month to work on as one of our activities! She would be so excited to get mail each month! Thanks for the giveaway! ~Stacy
